St Patty’s Tournament Spring 2011

The CofC Cougars went into their Matrix Match with Armstrong Atlantic University completely underestimating the 2nd year club. Midway through the 1st half, Armstrong scored a try from an elusive run by their winger. This try not only put 5 points on the board, but it also marked the 1st time in the 2011 Matrix season that the Cougars were forced to stage a comeback. It didn’t take long for Captain/8-Man, Joey Ingham, to put the team on his back and score 2 brilliant, multiple-tackle breaking tries. George “Big Dawg” Woolston wanted a try and when Big Dawg wants a try, Big Dawg gets a try. George jumped into the back-line and made a few opposing backs look silly as they tried to tame the Dawg (but everyone knows that’s impossible). Selfishly, George only converted the kick on his own try. The 2nd half began and CofC brought in a few key reinforcements. The fresh legs sparked a few tantalizing runs by the Cougars, who added one more try by Austin Coon before the end of the match. The final score was 26-10, CofC. The win moved the Cougars to 4-0 on the season, their 1st undefeated Matrix season in club history. Congrats men. Next Step, Peach Playoffs!

Man of the Match: The Captain, Mr. James Joseph Ingham, for going Beast Mode and jump-starting CofC’s offense.

Dick of the Day: Jazzy Jeff… well, for no reason in particular, he’s just kind of a dick.
