On a beautiful sunny day, CofC and NCSU grinded it out, with both sides only managing to cross the tryline only once. Numerous penalties and ball-handling errors hindered both sides, and the game turned into defensive stalemate for the majority of time. It was CofC who struck first after an interception by Winger Kenny Evans led to a try in the middle of the posts, but Prop/Captain George Woolston missed the conversion, giving the cougars a slim 5 nil lead. They maintained this into the second half, but an incredibly blatant and stupid hands-in-the-ruck penalty landed srum-half Jazzy Jeff Seidel in the sin bin, and as soon as he got out, J.J. Garrell took his place for the same penalty. The resulting 20 minute long mismatch finally gave N.C. State the edge they needed to slam the ball through into the try zone. The kick was converted and N.C. State took the lead, 7-5. After about twenty more minutes of intense defensive play, the whistle blew, dealing the Cougars their second close but disappointing loss of the season.

Man of the Match: Tall John Bernstein for busting ass in the rucks and on defense

Dick of the Day: Jazzy Jeff for attempting to poach the ball as the sir repeatedly told him to stop, and thus getting a yellow card.
