CofC vs. Clemson September 25

The College of Charleston suffered a disappointing and close loss to Clemson this past Sunday. A depleted squad missing players due to injury and sickness traveled four hours to play Clemson on a brutally hot Sunday afternoon. Clemson started the game with a quick try after the Cougars once again gave up too many early penalties. However, CofC quickly responded with a try of their own, as Clemson dropped the ball on due to strong defense, which Zulu Warrior Kenny Evans picked up and returned for his very first try of his career. Clemson decided to make it a forward focused game, and pounded it in for their second try after repeated hammers into Cougar pack that was comprised of numerous rookies. Once again, CofC responded with another try by Kenny Evans, off a center loop in which inside Ian Mueller passed the ball over the opposing wing's head, giving Kenny a straight shot into the try zone. At halftime, the winded Cougars got a needed break and earful from their coach, but unfortunately at kickoff they surrendered another try. By this time the team's fatigue was becoming clear, as 8 rookies were playing in the game. More penalties and weak tackling gave Clemson their fourth and equally uncreative try, as they simply crashed the ball with their forwards. Down two tries, the Cougars finally started to pull it together. Kenny Evans intercepted a pass to earn his hat trick, bringing the Cougars within seven. Shortly after, the pack finally won a ruck, scrummy Brian Abplanap grabbed the ball, passed it to Ian Mueller, who burned the winger and then chip kicked it over the fullback into the try zone, where he touched it down at the last second before it rolled out of bounds. Unfortunately George Woolston missed the difficult conversion, and the game would end with the final score of 24 to 26. It was another game they should have won, but a terrible sir and an off day cost them their first victory of the semester.

Man of the Match: Zulu Warrior Kenny Evans for an impressive hat trick

Dick of the Day: J.J. Garrell for not showing up without warning. OJ Simpson's lawyers wouldn't be able to save his ass at the coming Kangaroo Court.
